How to Search the Ralls Court Docket
Ralls offers no public online docket search tool. So figuring out the right court matters far more than hunting a name in a database. Look first at the heading on your citation, summons, or hearing notice. A Ralls Municipal Court heading means the city court is your stop. The paper may name Crosby County Court instead. It may list a justice court or the 72nd District Court. In those cases, the municipal clerk has nothing for you.
- Read the court name and note the citation or case number.
- Gather the defendant name, issue date, and scheduled appearance.
- Call Ralls Municipal Court at 806-253-2558 for a municipal matter.
- Ask for the current setting, status, payment route, or copy process.
- Contact the named county or district clerk when that court holds the case.
Cases that rise above city level follow a different path. The Crosby County case search routes lay out what the clerk offers and what statewide tools cover. re:SearchTX reaches some state cases. Still, it is not a full Ralls court docket, so treat it as one option among several.
Ralls Citations Start at City Court
A citation filed in Ralls Municipal Court stays there. Only a later legal step moves it elsewhere. The current Office of Court Administration directory gives the address. It is 800 Avenue I, Ralls, TX 79357-9700, with phone 806-253-2558. Call that number for any Ralls traffic or city-ordinance record. It is the documented first stop.
Give the clerk the citation number exactly as printed. Have the name and issue date ready too. Ask what the Ralls docket shows. It may be a future setting, a plea, a disposition, or some other status. The clerk can also tell you the authorized way to pay. Do not assume a portal used by another city will take a Ralls case. The court does not publish its hours, payment methods, or copy fees.
Note: Confirm current counter hours and accepted payment methods with Ralls Municipal Court before traveling or sending funds.
The Ralls Municipal Court
Ralls Municipal Court hears cases under city authority. These are mainly ordinance matters and municipal traffic tickets. Its docket is separate from the Crosby County Court docket. The Crosby County District Clerk does not hold it. That line decides where a request goes. It also decides which office confirms a court date and who can issue a copy.
The 2025 OCA municipal directory gives the Ralls address and phone. It also names Johnna R. Ware as municipal judge, though officeholders change. If the judge's name matters to your request, confirm it in the Texas judicial directory.
A docket entry records a case event or a setting. It is not always the full file. When a simple chronological list is enough, ask for a docket sheet. When you need the actual document, request the named filing, judgment, or certified copy instead.
No Public Ralls Docket Portal
Ralls Municipal Court offers no public court-docket database. That is an access limit, plain and simple. It does not mean the court holds no record. A clerk can still give you case status or copies even with no browser search available, so "nothing found online" never equals "no case exists."
Practical distinction: An absent Ralls search page means the documented route is the municipal court phone or counter. It does not resolve citation status.
re:SearchTX covers some state court matters. For Ralls, though, the eFileTexas table marks Crosby search as limited. A 2024 report also excludes public criminal documents from the statewide collection. So call or visit the Ralls city court. That is still the best first step for a Ralls citation.
Ralls Court Dates and Settings
The Ralls Municipal Court posts no public calendar. Your paper citation and the issuing court control the appearance date that counts. The case may have been reset. Call the clerk before trusting an old copy. A setting is just a scheduled event. It could be an arraignment, a pretrial matter, a trial, a compliance deadline, or docket call. The label alone never tells you how the case ended.
| Date | The day shown on the citation or confirmed by Ralls Municipal Court. |
|---|---|
| Time | The appearance time, which may be a docket call rather than an individual hearing. |
| Courtroom | The municipal location or room named by the clerk. |
| Judge | The judicial officer currently assigned to the setting. |
| Setting Type | The event label, such as arraignment, pretrial, trial, or compliance. |
Ask whether a later Ralls entry replaced the date you hold. The court publishes no docket legend, so only the clerk can define what a case-specific entry means.
Find a Ralls Date by Citation
Start with the citation number. Read it to the clerk, then confirm the name and issue date if asked. Request the latest setting, not just the first date entered. If the case was reset, write down the new date, time, place, and event type. Ask how the court will send notice.
Never treat a missing internet result as proof an appearance was canceled. A public calendar can be absent or incomplete. Maybe the date passed. Maybe the notice is unclear. In either case, contact Ralls Municipal Court right away. Texas DPS cannot resolve the citation itself. It sends people with failure-to-appear or failure-to-pay questions back to the issuing court.
Note: Contacting the clerk does not itself change a required Ralls appearance; obtain direct instruction about any reset.
Ralls Traffic Tickets
A ticket filed with Ralls Municipal Court opens a court record. It can show the citation, your plea, any payment, a dismissal, a judgment, or a later setting. What appears depends on the case. Your best lookup key is the citation number. Ralls offers no public search form or number pattern to lean on.
Paying a ticket and contesting it are two different paths. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 45A plus the issuing court set the rules. Call Ralls Municipal Court. Ask for the current response date, plea options, deferred disposition, defensive-driving eligibility, a payment plan, or how to get a copy. The court publishes no checklist or fee schedule. So do not assume another city's terms apply here.
Take the wider view. The Crosby County traffic court records route separates municipal citations from justice-court citations. Whichever court is printed on the ticket decides where the case lives.
Ralls Avoids the Wrong Portal
Crosbyton does host a payment form, but it comes with a warning: it is not for Crosby County citations. It is not the route for Ralls either. A shared county line never merges two municipal courts. Sending a Ralls number to Crosbyton means your payment lands with the wrong office, and the Ralls docket never gets updated.
| Paper names | First contact | Record |
|---|---|---|
| Ralls Municipal Court | Ralls court | City citation and docket |
| Crosby County Justice Court | Named precinct | Justice traffic or civil case |
| Crosby County Court | County Clerk | County case file |
| 72nd District Court | District Clerk | District case file |
Before you pay, request a copy, or ask about a court date, match the court name. That one check stops most routing mistakes.
Where Ralls Cases End Up
Ralls Municipal Court handles many city citations, yet it is not the filing office for everything connected to Ralls. County misdemeanors, civil matters, probate, and mental-health cases all go through the County Clerk. District civil, family, felony, and juvenile cases belong to the District Clerk and 72nd District Court.
Docket flow: Ralls Municipal Court › Crosby County Courts › 72nd District Court
This flow shows levels, not an automatic path. Living in Crosby County does not turn a municipal matter into a district case. Appeals and transfers hinge on the subject and the law. Start with the court name on your latest notice. Then ask whether a different clerk now holds the record.
Ralls Records and County Dockets
Ralls and Crosby County keep separate files. Ralls Municipal Court holds its own municipal cases, the County Clerk in Crosbyton keeps County Court criminal, civil, probate, and mental-health records, and the District Clerk manages 72nd District Court records. How far you live from Ralls has nothing to do with jurisdiction.
- Municipal docket
- The Ralls event record or schedule for a city case.
- Cause number
- The identifier assigned by the court that opened the case.
- Setting
- A reserved date and time for an event.
- Disposition
- The recorded outcome or procedural resolution.
Read the caption on your most recent paperwork. It names Ralls Municipal Court? Start there. A county or district court caption means that courthouse clerk is your stop.
Ralls Population Is Not Caseload
The 2020 Decennial Census put 1,665 residents in Ralls, the largest of three incorporated Crosby County cities. That figure is place context only. It says nothing about docket volume, filing totals, or how much work the court handles.
OCA puts out annual reports, but no Ralls municipal total is published there. Never turn a population figure into an estimated case count.
Public Access to Ralls Court Records
Access depends on the type of record. Under Texas Government Code section 552.0035, access to judiciary records follows applicable law and court rules. The Texas Public Information Act is not a blanket route into every Ralls case file. Rule 12 governs judicial records. Court case records may fall under other law and clerk procedure. Sealed, juvenile, family, adoption, mental-health, and sensitive records can carry added limits.
Key Rules:
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 recognizes the judiciary-access distinction.
Texas courts open-records policy explains Rule 12 and the difference between judicial and case records.
Texas Family Code Chapter 58 provides juvenile-record confidentiality rules.
Ask Ralls Municipal Court whether you can inspect a record or get a plain or certified copy. Provide the citation or cause number plus a narrow description of what you need. The court posts no fee list, so confirm current costs and delivery terms with the clerk before ordering.
